Gilles Duceppe is just fresh out of ideas.Moments ago, the Bloc Quebecois leader Twitter'ed to shrug: « En préparation pour la période de questions en Chambre cet après-midi. Vous avez des suggestions? »
That’s right. The Bloc leader, with 48 MPs, and a research office worth $1.6 million in staff salaries, in the midst of a recession, with 350,000 unemployed in Quebec, can’t come up with a single idea of his own.
Even Bloc MPs are now having trouble hiding that they just haven't a clue what they are supposed to be doing in Ottawa.

Power to the people I say. How is asking for suggestions any different than Layton's public forums of which he bragged about using Twitter? I can't be in Oshawa, but I can tweet during my work break.
There's nothing necessarily wrong with politicians being on Twitter.
But to use it to gather ideas in a mad scramble two hours before question period is, well, embarassing. It suggests that Duceppe is badly out of touch and might benefit from meeting with more Quebecers who are hurting in this recession rather than twittering into the wind.

Yeah, I have to agree with Mario. I'm sure that Gilles and the BQ have plenty of ideas. This is just an attempt to use Twitter to connect with the electorate.
It seems a little ham-fisted, but what can you expect with 140 characters? I think the NDP should do something similar. I'd contribute.
Maybe it's a good idea, maybe it's not.
If Duceppe, or any other leader was to have done this two years ago, or one year ago, there'd be nothing to say.
But right now,the optics of a federal party leader trolling the internet for QP ideas when signs of a worsenting recession are all around him and his 48 caucus members stinks.
It's like a surgeon in the middle of emergency surgery "twittering" for advice.
